JASON WU Spring 2012...How Did I miss this?
Jason Wu. Wow. I have no idea what was going on...but by some bizarre occurrence I missed Jason Wu's Spring 2012 collection. Below are a few of my favourite pieces from this young designer who took quite
lavish and couture-like references and ease, and loosened them up with graphic,
sportier elements, pretty much all rendered in black, white and pink, as well
as a very modern shades of cobalt, acid lime, and citrus yellow.Taiwanese-born American fashion designer, Jason Wu,
is an exciting force in the fashion world because unlike simply Eastern or
Western designers, Wu merges the influence of both cultures.

AUTUMN/WINTER FASHION WEEKS 2012
The 'Big Four' Fashion weeks are: New York,London, Milan and Paris Fashion weeks. The schedule begins with New York, followed by London, and then Milan, and ending the events in Paris. They are held semi-annually for all the four cities. The Autumn/Summer starting in February till March and the Spring/Winter starting in September till October. Paris Fashion Week dates may vary as the French Federation Council has a huge say in determining the same.
It is of interest to note that out of the four, three fashion weeks are in Europe leading credence to my belief that the continent is the fashion haven. There are other Fashion weeks of note but in the coming weeks I will be reviewing the big four.
A fashion week is a fashion industry event, lasting approximately one week, which allows fashion designers, brands or "houses" to display their latest collections in runway shows and buyers and the media to take a look at the latest trends. Most importantly, these events let the industry know what's "in" and what's "out" for the season. For anyone who is a die hard fashion enthusiast this is a culmination of the best mix of all aspect of fashion with its cauldron of all kinds of fashion professionals and stakeholders. My dream is to one day be so established in fashion that I will be able to attend the big four. It's actually weird because in my last year of campus while job hunting the big four meant the top four Auditing, Tax and consultancy Firms in the country. How the winds change...
So the images from each Fashion week from the four Cities:
